Post-event surveys

Post-event surveys.Event feedback, sent straight from your guest list.

A post-event survey asks the people who were actually there how the event went. With AirLST you build the questionnaire, send it to the guest list and analyze every answer with the guest who gave it. No separate survey tool, no copying address lists, and the feedback sits next to attendance and no-shows in the same report.

01No second tool

Questionnaire, sending and analysis all in AirLST; no exporting addresses into a survey tool.

02The right recipients

Everyone who attended, only Workshop A, only VIPs: recipients are a filter, not a mailing list.

03Answers with context

Every answer is stored with the guest, together with group, attendance and session choice.

04Live in the app

01Questionnaire

Questions that fit the event. And what each guest experienced.

The questionnaire uses single choice, multiple choice and free text, with conditional logic: guests who attended the workshop rate it, everyone else never sees the question. Five to eight questions are enough, whether it is a quick pulse check or a multi-step survey after a conference.

  • Question typesSingle choice, multiple choice, free text and rating scales (such as 1 to 5 or NPS)
  • NPS built inLikelihood to recommend on a 0 to 10 scale; the score is the share of promoters (9 to 10) minus the share of detractors (0 to 6).
  • Still on paper?Download the event feedback form template (PDF and Word) with the same twelve questions.
  • Conditional logicFollow-up questions based on an answer or on guest data, such as workshop choice.
  • In your event designLogo, colors and language matching the landing page and emails.
  • Reuse as a templateLast year's questionnaire becomes the template for the next edition.

02Sending

A post-event survey for the people who were actually there.

Recipients are a filter on the guest list: checked in, guest group, session. The survey goes out through invitation management, in your event design, with a personal link, scheduled for the same evening or the next morning. The reminder only goes to guests who have not answered yet.

Recipients: everyone checked in, not the whole invitation list
Reminder only to guests who have not answered
Right away

The same evening or the next morning; for multi-day events as a mid-event survey.

Personal

With the guest's name, in your event design, sent from invitation emails.

By QR code, too

The survey link as a QR code on the name badge, a farewell card or the screen, for answers in the room.

Filters just like the guest list: group, session, attendance
03Analysis

Answers with context: who said what, and where were they?

Because each answer is stored with the guest, you can combine it with everything AirLST knows about them: guest group, attendance, workshop choice. Satisfaction by session tells you which room was too small; the VIPs' free text tells you what the lounge needs. Export to Excel or CSV, and see the numbers next to RSVPs and no-shows in event reporting.

  • By questionDistribution of answers, free text as a list.
  • By group and sessionVIPs vs. attendees, Workshop A vs. B, day 1 vs. day 2.
  • With your reportingFeedback next to attendance and no-shows in event reporting.
  • For next timeAnswers stay with the contact in the event CRM.
04During the event

Live polls and session ratings: feedback while the session is still running.

In the event app, attendees rate a session right after the applause, vote in the room or take a quiz with results on the big screen. The premium feature Feedback & surveys adds session ratings and event surveys with real-time reporting; the answers are stored with the guest like all the others.

What is a post-event survey?

A post-event survey is an online questionnaire that an organizer sends to attendees after an event to learn how it was received: overall satisfaction, the value of individual sessions, organization and wishes for next time. Event survey software builds the questionnaire, sends it to attendees and analyzes the answers. In AirLST it is part of attendee management, so recipients come from the guest list and answers are stored with the guest.

If you want to evaluate an event, you need to know how the format worked for attendees, not just how many showed up. Registration and attendance numbers are the first signal; the survey delivers the actual feedback, as a quick pulse check or as a multi-step questionnaire with conditional logic, during the event as a mid-event survey or right after it. For new formats, whether hybrid, virtual or in person, it is the only reliable source for what to change next time.

Attendance tells you how many came. The survey tells you whether it was worth it.

5–8questions: short enough for two minutes, long enough for a decision
24 hafter the event: the best time to send
1record that holds the answer, attendance and session choice

Which questions should a post-event survey ask?

Start with a few questions every event needs, then add the ones that only make sense for your format. A solid core for corporate events and conferences:

  • Overall satisfaction: How satisfied were you with the event overall?
  • Content: Which sessions were most useful to you?
  • Organization: How smooth were registration, check-in and venue logistics?
  • Recommendation: Would you recommend the event to a colleague?
  • Next time: What should we do differently?

Questions that depend on what the guest did, such as a workshop rating, should only reach those who took part. In AirLST that is a condition on guest data, so nobody rates a session they never attended.

How does the post-event survey work in AirLST?

  1. Build the questionnaire. Single choice, multiple choice, free text, conditional logic based on answers or guest data; in your event design and in your guests' languages.
  2. Choose recipients. A filter on the guest list: everyone checked in, only Workshop A, only day 2; the full invitation list stays out.
  3. Send. From invitation management with a personal link, scheduled for the same evening or the next morning; a QR code for answers in the room.
  4. Remind. One reminder to those who have not answered yet, not to everyone.
  5. Analyze. By question, by group, by session; free text as a list; export; numbers in event reporting.
  6. Keep working. Answers stay with the contact in the event CRM, and the questionnaire becomes the template for the next edition.

How is it different from a general survey tool?

A general survey tool doesn't know your guests. You export the attendee list, import it, send a link and get answers back that you then have to match against the guest list to find out whether the catering complaint came from VIPs or from Workshop B. Reminders go to everyone because the tool doesn't know who has already answered, and the results sit next to your event report instead of inside it.

In AirLST the survey knows its recipients, and every answer knows its guest.

That is why recipients are a guest list filter, why answers sit next to attendance and session choice, and why the reminder only goes to non-responders. The survey is not the last email of the event; it is the last question asked of the same record that started with the invitation. For live feedback during a session, the event app adds session ratings, surveys and quizzes with real-time results.

It works with the guest list for recipients and context, event check-in for who attended, invitation emails for sending and reminders, the event app for live feedback, event reporting for analysis and the event CRM for history.

FAQ

Post-event survey FAQ

What is a post-event survey?

A post-event survey is a short online questionnaire sent to attendees after an event to find out how it landed: overall satisfaction, the value of individual sessions, organization and what to change next time. In AirLST it is part of attendee management, so recipients come straight from the guest list and every answer is stored with the guest who gave it.

What are good survey questions to ask after an event?

Five examples that work for most corporate events: How satisfied were you with the event overall? Which sessions were most useful to you? How would you rate the organization, from registration to check-in? Would you recommend the event to a colleague? What should we do differently next time? Add one question per format that matters to you, such as a workshop rating that only workshop attendees see.

What is a post-event review called?

Teams usually call it a post-event debrief, wrap-up or event evaluation; some use the project term post-mortem. It combines hard numbers such as registrations, attendance and no-shows with what attendees said in the survey. In AirLST both sit side by side in event reporting.

When should you send a post-event survey?

Within 24 hours, while the impression is fresh: the same evening or the morning after. For multi-day events a short mid-event survey works as well. In AirLST you schedule the send in advance and send one reminder only to guests who have not answered yet.

Can attendees answer the survey anonymously?

By default each answer is stored with the guest record, because that is what lets you analyze it by guest group, attendance and session choice. If you prefer, a survey can also run anonymously, with no link to the guest record.

How do I get more attendees to respond?

Keep it short, send it fast and make it personal: five to eight questions, sent right after the event with the guest's name, one reminder to non-responders, and a QR code on the name badge or a closing slide. Then share the results and what you changed; people who see that feedback matters answer again next time.
