Digital coat check system for events

A digital coat check system records coats and bags and assigns them to the guest, so check-in and pickup work without paper tickets. Faster for your guests and simpler for everyone involved: no tags, no searching, no mix-ups. Built for large events and special requirements for coat and bag check.

The coat check is the second line of the night

On arrival, hundreds of guests drop off their coats within minutes; at the end, everyone wants them back at the same time. With paper tickets that means searching, comparing and handing out the wrong coat. A digital coat check fixes this in several places:

  • Drop-off in seconds: scan the item, assign it to the guest, done
  • Pickup without searching: scan the code and the spot is shown
  • No mix-ups: the assignment belongs to the guest, not to a number
  • A clear record: who checked and picked up what, and when, is documented
  • Several coat check stations on one live status, even at large events

How the digital coat check runs

1. Drop-off The guest shows the code from their ticket, name badge or phone. The item is recorded and assigned to the guest.
2. Storage Every item has a spot in the system. Several coat check stations and separate areas, for example for VIPs or the press, work on the same live status.
3. Pickup Scan the code, the spot appears, the item goes back to its owner. If a code is lost, staff search by name or booking code in the guest list.

Equipment, scanners and staff training are part of our on-site admission service.

Where a digital coat check makes the difference

  • Galas and premieres: evening coats for hundreds of guests who arrive and leave at the same time, see premiere events
  • Conferences with travel: luggage on the first day, coats on every day, see conference management
  • Corporate and employee events: thousands of attendees in one hall, several coat check stations on one live status
  • VIP and hospitality areas: separate storage with its own pickup, see corporate hospitality
FAQ

Digital coat check FAQ

How does a digital coat check system work?

When a guest checks a coat or bag, the item is recorded digitally and assigned to that guest. Instead of a paper ticket, the guest uses a code they already have: on the ticket, on the name badge or as a QR code on their phone. At pickup, the code is scanned, the system shows the item and its spot, and the return takes seconds instead of a search.

Do coat checks still exist?

Yes. Galas, premieres, conferences and corporate events in winter still need a place for coats and luggage. A digital coat check replaces the paper ticket with a code linked to the guest, so nothing gets mixed up and pickup at the end of the night takes seconds instead of a search.

Which events benefit most from a digital coat check?

Events where many guests arrive and leave within a short window: galas, premieres, corporate events in winter, conferences where attendees bring luggage on arrival day, and large events with several coat check stations. It also helps with special requirements, such as separate storage for VIP areas or the press.

How does the coat check connect to event check-in?

It works on the same guest list. Anyone checked in at the entrance is already known at the coat check, and the code on the ticket or badge doubles as the coat check code. The full event-day setup is described on the event access control page.

Does AirLST provide staff and equipment for the coat check?

The digital coat check is part of our on-site admission service. Equipment, scanners and training for the coat check staff are agreed per project; if you want, the AirLST team runs it for you.

What happens if a guest loses their code?

Because the item is assigned to the guest rather than to a tag, staff can find it by name or booking code in the guest list. The record of who checked what stays on file.
