The challenge

Europe's fashion, beauty and sports leaders in one day.

For one day, Europe's most prominent decision-makers from fashion, beauty and sports were to meet virtually: discussing interactively, following presentations, joining panels and watching interviews.

The event was meant to pick up current perspectives and turn them into new digital strategies. That took more than a stream: rooms for discussion and ways to involve the audience.

The AirLST solution

The interactive package for virtual events.

To make the event truly interactive, AirLST set up live streams, discussion rooms and online polls. Virtual Q&A sessions were part of it too, as part of the interactive package for virtual meetings and networking events.

Over the day, 21 live streams carried presentations, panels and interviews, and guests discussed in smaller groups across 11 breakout rooms.

The result

A packed event day, interactive rather than just streamed.

800 guests, 21 live streams and 11 breakout rooms in one day: presentations, panels and interviews ran on the stream, discussions in their own rooms, and questions and opinions came from the audience through Q&A and polls.

FAQ

Zalando virtual event case study FAQ

What was the Zalando virtual industry event?

It was Zalando's Digital Acceleration Summit 2021, held online on October 26, 2021: one day on which 800 of Europe's leading decision-makers from fashion, beauty and sports met virtually. They followed presentations, panels and interviews and discussed current industry perspectives to develop new digital strategies.

How do you keep 800 virtual attendees engaged for a full day?

Zalando combined four building blocks: live streams for presentations, panels and interviews, discussion rooms for smaller groups, online polls to involve the audience, and virtual Q&A sessions for direct questions to the speakers. In total the day ran 21 live streams and 11 breakout rooms.

How does this case study differ from the first Zalando case study?

The first Zalando case study covers a three-day Digital Acceleration Summit with 800 guests and almost 30 speakers. This one covers the 2021 edition, a single, denser day with 21 live streams and 11 breakout rooms.

Which part of the event did AirLST handle?

AirLST set up the interactive package for the virtual event: the live streams, the discussion rooms, the online polls and the virtual Q&A sessions.

Can AirLST support digital events for other companies?

Yes. In a demo we show you how invitations, registration, the event website and surveys work together for your own event format.
