The challenge

Structured customer conversations at the booth.

For its in-house trade show, Uhlmann needed a tool that would let its team capture and manage booth contacts. Predefined questions would give every customer conversation a clear structure, and ideally the answers would be recorded digitally right away.

The goal was a solid basis for analyzing those conversations effectively in the sales follow-up.

The AirLST solution

One QR code from the entrance to the booth.

AirLST developed an iOS app for lead capture at the show. At the entrance, every visitor received a name badge with a QR code. At the booth, staff scanned that code with the lead capture app, and the visitor was captured.

The app then opened a survey with questions about products, new launches and requirements, answered as multiple choice or in a free-text field. On top of that came a flexible, multilingual landing page with changing content and a registration form that covered different attendee groups as well as hotel and transfer planning.

The results

Booth contacts you can actually analyze.

Staff could document their booth contacts quickly and easily: scan the name badge, answer the questions, done. Every contact was tied to a registered attendee, and the answers from each conversation were available digitally for an effective analysis in the follow-up.

FAQ

Uhlmann case study FAQ

What did Uhlmann need for its in-house trade show?

Uhlmann needed a tool to capture and manage the contacts its team made at the show. A set of predefined questions would structure every conversation at the booth, with the answers recorded digitally so sales could follow up effectively.

How did booth staff capture leads at the show?

AirLST built an iOS app for lead capture. Staff scanned the QR code on a visitor's name badge and then answered a structured survey with multiple-choice and free-text fields about products, new launches and requirements.

What questions belong in a trade show lead form?

At Uhlmann, the survey covered the products a visitor was interested in, the new launches presented at the show and the visitor's requirements. Multiple-choice fields keep answers comparable, and free-text fields capture details for the follow-up.

How were name badges produced for 1,500 attendees?

Each of the 1,500 attendees received a name badge with a QR code at the entrance, with 3 print stations on site. The same QR code was later scanned at the booth, so every lead was tied to a registered attendee.

What else did the event platform cover besides lead capture?

The package also included a flexible multilingual landing page with changing content, a registration form for different attendee groups and integrated hotel and transfer planning.
