QR Code Tickets for Events

Access management can be so simple

To ensure smooth entry, we work with QR code tickets. Every guest who is invited and registered for an event receives an individual code, which we issue in the online registration as a QR code on a ticket. In the AirLST ticket editor, this admission ticket can be created in the customer's design. Users can choose whether they prefer the ticket as a PDF file or as a PKPass file for Apple Wallet.

What is a QR Code?

QR codes enable easy storage and quick retrieval of comprehensive information. Electronic tickets with QR codes are therefore an optimal solution for smooth entry and professional guest management. QR codes were first developed in 1994 by Toyota. Storing extensive datasets in a visual binary code proved to be extremely efficient and flexible. The codes were initially used to mark components in the automotive supplier industry and to store specific, compressed information on individual components. Once again, the automotive industry confirmed its role as a pioneer. Today, QR codes are used worldwide in various industries and sectors: to mark products, simplify logistical processes, disseminate detailed information on advertising posters or in the cultural industry, and even on visa documents and other government papers. These small black-and-white patterned squares have become commonplace, and almost everyone carries a reader in the form of their smartphone. Thus, QR codes truly live up to their name – QR stands for Quick Response.

QR Codes for the Event Industry

Quick Response – that's a guiding principle for the event industry, so it's no wonder QR codes are so popular and widely used here. We particularly need quick responses when coordinating our guests. Nobody likes long queues at the entrance, and so the electronic registration of all guests in a digital guest list helps not only with data management but also at the entrance. As soon as a guest's QR code ticket is scanned, the cloud-based guest list updates. Event organizers thus always have an overview of questions such as: How many visitors are already at the venue? Which guests are still missing? To which participant group does the guest belong? Because the QR code ticket can also store information such as guest categories, workshop selections, or similar. At the entrance, guests are thus coordinated accordingly after a quick scan of the QR code ticket.

Integrated Copy Protection

The cloud-based guest management system, supported by QR code tickets, also includes integrated copy protection. Thanks to the continuous updating of the digital guest list, event organizers always know the status of each individual guest. If the same code is scanned again, a message appears indicating that this code has already been used. Consequently, no other form of ticket invalidation needs to be set up. Watermarks and other protective features are also rendered unnecessary by the automated digital invalidation of the codes. The QR code ticket thus ensures fast and professional access management.
